So, why it isn't in showrooms, yet ? As much I dislike crossovers and modern day Lincolns, it looks pretty decent, and could bring a bit of fresh air, into the segment.

Kinja'd!!!

How much time does Ford really needs, to reskin the Escape ?

To do it right? They can take as much time as they please.

It's a crossover, it can't be right.

It can.

And based off the crop of modern crossovers I've driven, I'm happy.

Enough bitching that we don't get wagons. I'm happy with what we do get.

The grille really rubs me the wrong way.

I think the concept looks fantastic, and I would absolutely drive one, as it's the first genuinely good-looking Lincoln since the '95-97 Town Car, IMHO. This is the only vehicle on which the split wing grille actually works. I think if it looks nearly identical to the concept, it will be a huge sales success and could very well be the car that saves Lincoln. If it looks like the concept . That being said, after seeing several spyshots, I have genuine concerns about the MKC.

It seems to have the Escape's greenhouse, at least from the C-pillars forward. Normal door handles have appeared, though that was to be expected. The stylish deep chisels of the concept's lower rocker panels are gone. It appears that the sweet LED headlamps of the concept have been replaced by traditional ones as well. It also looks like it has lost some of the definition in that grille (not good).

Out back, it looks like the integrated rear exhaust has been replaced with oval pipes. No way to tell yet if the clamshell rear hatch made it. Overall I think it looks more bloated than the concept, though the camo could be throwing me off in that regard. So I'm a little worried. Lincoln really can't afford to screw this one up.

Full set of spyshots here.
